One Dead in Pedestrian vs. Semi-Truck Crash on Southeast 208th St. in Kent, WA
Kent, WA (December 27, 2025) — A pedestrian was fatally injured early Saturday morning after being struck by a semi-truck in Kent. According to police, officers responded at approximately 4:43 a.m. to a reported collision involving a pedestrian near Southeast 208th Street and 113th Place Southeast. A caller to 911 reported attempting to perform CPR before first responders arrived.
Authorities stated that the pedestrian suffered severe injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators reported that a semi-truck traveling eastbound struck the pedestrian, who was allegedly standing in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. A second vehicle traveling in the same direction reportedly attempted to avoid the pedestrian, lost control, and collided with the semi-truck. Police indicated that neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors and that both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Areas Investigators May Closely Review
Although police have stated that impairment and speed were not believed to be contributing factors, investigators will still need to carefully examine the moments leading up to the collision. Crashes occurring in the early morning hours often prompt closer review of potential driver fatigue or distraction, particularly when visibility and alertness can be affected by the time of day.
Investigators may analyze driver statements, witness accounts, and available dash camera footage to assess how quickly the pedestrian was observed and whether there was adequate opportunity to react. Even when a driver attempts to take evasive action, questions often remain about reaction time, attentiveness, and whether anything interfered with the driver’s ability to perceive and respond to a hazard in the roadway.
Sequence of Events and Vehicle Interaction
The reported chain of events adds additional complexity to the investigation. According to authorities, the semi-truck driver attempted to swerve to avoid the pedestrian but still made contact. Shortly afterward, a second vehicle reportedly lost control while attempting to avoid the pedestrian and struck the semi-truck.
In situations involving multiple evasive maneuvers and secondary impacts, investigators often reconstruct the timeline of events in detail. Understanding vehicle speeds, spacing, and driver responses is essential to determining how the initial collision occurred and how the subsequent crash occurred.
Why Reviewing All Evidence Is Essential
Initial reports indicate that the investigation relied on driver statements, witness accounts, and dash camera footage. A comprehensive review of this evidence is critical in pedestrian fatalities, particularly when questions exist about perception, reaction, and the ability to avoid a collision.
Careful analysis of all available information allows investigators to clarify what occurred in the roadway, assess whether additional factors contributed to the crash, and ensure that conclusions are based on objective evidence rather than assumptions drawn from limited early reports.

Why It’s Important to Consider Experience When Finding a Truck Accident Attorney
Pedestrian crashes involving commercial trucks often require a more detailed evaluation than standard traffic accidents. These cases can involve complex questions related to vehicle operation, driver conduct, and compliance with commercial safety standards, especially when serious injuries or fatalities occur.
For this reason, those affected by truck-related crashes should consult an attorney certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in truck accident law. This certification is held by a limited number of attorneys nationwide and reflects a demonstrated focus on handling serious commercial vehicle cases. Tom D’Amore, founder of D’Amore Law Group, has more than 30 years of experience and holds this certification. This background is particularly relevant when evaluating fatal commercial vehicle crashes in Washington.
