DuPont, WA (April 1, 2026) — A semi-truck crash early Wednesday morning shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Steilacoom DuPont Road after the vehicle struck a barrier and spilled a significant amount of diesel fuel. According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:00 a.m. when the truck allegedly lost control, veered to the right, and hit multiple concrete barriers.
Authorities estimated that up to 100 gallons of fuel spilled onto the roadway. The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
