Grand Ronde, Oregon (01/10/2022) — According to Oregon State Police, the accident occurred on Highway 22 near milepost 9 on Monday around 7 a.m.
Toyota Camry headed westbound for an unknown reason vehicle crossed over to the eastbound line and crashed head-on with a semi-truck.
Toyota driver, a woman from Grand Ronde was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and unfortunately was later pronounced dead. The truck driver stayed at the scene to help the investigation.
According to NWFF Environmental Services, the cause of the accident was a fuel spill on the road. Highway 22 remained closed for 7 hours during the investigation.
