In celebration of Women’s History Month, D’Amore Law Group showcases the inspiration and expertise of the women professionals who elevate our firm and its client service.
What woman in the firm or the business community inspires you and why?
I never felt that anyone, other than my father, inspired me until I met Lisa D’Amore. She is an amazing woman, and I totally admire her commitment, dedication, and focus to all that she and Tom represent. But I do believe that most of my inspiration comes from within me and must have been instilled by my parents. Simply put, if I wanted a change, I made it.
If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
My father.
What led you to a career in law?
I wanted to work with people who are intelligent. I wanted to be surrounded by those who would have meaningful conversations, had differing ideas, and who were goal driven.
How is being a female professional in the legal industry advantageous?
In the legal field, I worked first as a Legal Secretary and later in management as a Branch Office Manager, HR and Accounting and finally as a Controller. These areas were predominantly women because these positions were at one time seen solely as support roles. Maybe not so much now, but I never let any of that bother me.
What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self or the next generation of women leaders?
Try to see the gray; the world is not black and white.
