Cathy joined D’Amore Law Group in February of 2019. Cathy brings to the firm 19 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in Chicago, Illinois. Cathy began her paralegal career working at a class action law firm, fighting for equitable justice for plaintiffs wronged in such areas as consumer fraud, labor and employment, shareholder derivatives, and products liability. She then spent 14 years in eminent domain litigation and land use, building a solid foundation in civil procedure. Her pro bono work through the years brought her great personal satisfaction as she assisted with numerous refugees’ immigration cases, interpreting and translating from French to English. Cathy is excited about the opportunity to work with the talented team at D’Amore Law Group and to put her legal experience to work helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes given the often life-changing circumstances that brought them to seek our help.
A native Illinoisan, in 2018 Cathy gave up the flatlands for the mountainous landscape of Oregon to rejoin her family and extended family here. Outside work, she enjoys traveling, exploring the natural beauty and cultural offerings of whatever region she finds herself in, and she has a particular concern for animal and environmental welfare.
Cathy earned a bachelor’s degree in French and Linguistics from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in French from Middlebury College, and holds a certificate in paralegal studies from Roosevelt University in Chicago. She speaks French, Italian, and Spanish.
