Tom D’Amore is a trial lawyer dedicated to preserving the civil justice system. An attorney for more than 30 years — and a former CPA with a Big 8 accounting firm —Tom is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and California. He founded D’Amore Law Group in 1994 with the mission of securing justice for injured people, victims of wrongful death, and their families.

Tom is actively engaged in the plaintiff’s trial bar. Tom is a national Board of Governor, past Executive Committee member, and past Budget and Audit Chair of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) in Washington, D.C. Tom is Past President of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ).

Rigorous Certification Process for Truck Accident Lawyers
To obtain a Truck Accident Law Board Certification, lawyers must undergo rigorous testing to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, experience, and capabilities in trucking litigation. Specifically, an attorney must engage in a peer review process, demonstrate substantial knowledge and experience in truck accident litigation, and pass a comprehensive written exam. An attorney seeking NBTA board certification must also dedicate much of their practice to truck accident cases.

Not only is Tom D’Amore the only attorney to hold this prestigious and coveted certification in Oregon, but the D’Amore Law Group also achieved the highest semi-truck accident verdict in the state. The D’Amore Law Group obtained a $26.4 million jury verdict in a catastrophic injury and wrongful death truck accident case, making it the highest trucking accident verdict in the state to date. With over 30 years of experience, Tom D’Amore and the D’Amore Law Group have the knowledge, experience, and resources to take on trucking companies and insurance carriers.
Educating and Training Fellow Trial Lawyers
Additionally, Tom teaches fellow trial lawyers about representing victims of crime, trial practice, arbitration, accident reconstruction, insurance and insurance bad faith law, the business of law, and so-called “tort reform”. He has written several articles and authored a chapter in the Anatomy of a Personal Injury Lawsuit, 4th Edition, a chapter in the Oregon State Bar Civil Practice and Procedures Manual (Defense Medical Examinations), a chapter in the Oregon Trial Lawyers Motor Vehicle Deskbook (Rules of the Road), and is the co-editor of the AAJ Press title Litigating Major Automobile Injury and Death Cases with Ken Levinson.
Giving Back to the Oregon Community
D’Amore Law Group is dedicated to strengthening and improving their extended community, and is proud to support organizations like Rose Haven, the Oregon Food Bank, and End Distracted Driving, among others. Tom is a long-time Board Member of Good Deeds, an Oregon not-for-profit that provides assistance to families with special medical circumstances.
Personal Life and Interests
Tom lives outside Portland, Oregon. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 30 years and has three adult children. Tom has spent many years coaching youth sports at the competitive and recreational level, including football, basketball and baseball. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling with Lisa, trying new restaurants, attending sporting events, and playing softball and basketball.
