In celebration of Women’s History Month, D’Amore Law Group showcases the inspiration and expertise of the women professionals who elevate our firm and its client service.
What woman in the firm or the business community inspires you and why?
I am inspired by all of the women in our firm. We all come from different backgrounds and had to overcome a variety of challenges to get here. The women in our firm bring a lot of joy to my life and always provide encouragement. I am inspired by and grateful for each one of them.
If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
My grandmother. She was the glue of our family. She was a tiny but mighty woman who never let anything hold her back. She passed away when I was in high school, so she never got to see me grow into the woman I am today. She taught me to be proud of who I am and to hold fast to my beliefs.
What led you to a career in law?
I have always been interested in the legal field. I wanted to be an attorney for most of my childhood. Once in the legal industry, I found that I really enjoy working as a paralegal and providing support to some pretty amazing attorneys.
How is being a female professional in the legal industry advantageous?
I believe women in the legal industry are resilient. As a female professional in the legal industry, I have been talked over and underestimated many times. The women I know in the legal industry have had to work harder to prove themselves in this field. I don’t know if being a female professional in the legal industry is advantageous, but it has definitely pushed me past what I thought I was capable of and has made me into a stronger and more confident woman.
What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self or the next generation of women leaders?
Be unapologetically yourself. People in life will try to change you or tell you that you can’t do something because of who you are, but they are wrong. You can do anything you set your mind to. There is a world full of people but there is only one you. Continue to be yourself and never quit working towards your goals.
