Oregon Attorney General Seeking Changes to Public Records Request Law

Oregon Attorney General John Kroger has proposed revamping the state’s public records law.  His sweeping plan includes speeding up the response time for records requests, lowering the cost for releasing records, and removing several exemptions that limit what records can be released.   The current public records law was enacted in the 1970s.  Attorney General Kroger said his plan is geared toward making state government more transparent.
