In celebration of Women’s History Month, D’Amore Law Group showcases the inspiration and expertise of the women professionals who elevate our firm and its client service.
If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
I would have dinner with my niece, Elle D’Amore. I have been inspired by Elle for many years. Compassionate, determined, and entertaining are words that immediately come to mind when thinking of Elle. Despite a plethora of challenges in her life, she persevered and was always there for others. Elle provided support to anyone who needed an ear, some understanding, or a helping hand. She handled all that life threw at her with grace and is a glowing example for so many.
How is being a female professional in the legal industry advantageous?
As women attorneys remain the minority in the legal industry, I believe female professionals have an advantage because they offer a unique perspective. This perspective includes an adeptness in listening and relating to clients, judges, and jurors, as well as the ability to balance conflicting priorities. They also have a perception of fairness.
What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self or the next generation of women leaders?
The advice I would give to my younger self is to make sure you know what you are talking about before you open your mouth or put something in writing, to be explicit in your communications, and to ensure that clear expectations have been set.
