Parents should be aware that teen drivers are not only facing distractions from radios or passengers while in the driver seat, but now from text messages via their cell phone as well. In a 2007 study by AAA, 46 percent of teenagers have admitted to texting while driving. Text messaging is turning our young drivers' attention away from the road and toward the tiny cell phone screen and key pad which could potentially lead to higher rates of auto accidents in teen drivers.
