Yesterday, CNN published an exposé shedding light on the case of Dr. David Farley, a once-respected physician in Oregon, now accused of widespread sexual abuse. The article and video detail the harrowing experiences of three brave survivors – Lisa Pratt, Katie Medley, and Nicole Snow – who are among the dozens of former patients alleging Farley abused them.
Farley, a family medicine doctor and Mormon church leader in Oregon, used his position of power to exploit patients under the guise of providing medical care, including performing unnecessary and invasive procedures on minors. Despite the Oregon Medical Board revoking Farley’s license, the criminal justice system has thus far failed these survivors, with a grand jury declining to indict due to alleged insufficient evidence.
D’Amore Law Group represents more than 150 survivors in a civil suit against Farley. In the article, D’Amore Law Group founder Tom D’Amore emphasized the gravity of the situation: “This is a crime of violence. It causes permanent psychological harm. They’re not going to forget what happened to them.”
The CNN article provides an in-depth look at the survivors’ stories, the institutional failures, and the ongoing fight for justice. It underscores the importance of our firm’s work advocating for survivors of sexual abuse and challenging the systems that protect predators.
