Attorneys from D’Amore Law Group have filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of Debra Cole, whose husband, Bradley Cole, was murdered at the Ashley Inn & Suites in Lincoln City. The couple had traveled to the hotel to celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary.
As detailed in The Oregonian, Bradley was walking their dog on the hotel grounds when he was attacked by another guest, Roland Evans-Freke. According to the lawsuit, Evans-Freke had a long history of psychiatric hospitalizations and violent behavior. He demanded Bradley hand over his dog and viciously assaulted him when he refused. Evans-Freke returned multiple times to continue the attack. Bradley died from his injuries at the scene.
The suit names Roland Evans-Freke and his father, Stephen Evans-Freke, as well as the Ashley Inn & Suites, as defendants. According to the complaint, hotel staff and Evans-Freke’s father were fully aware of Roland’s escalating instability and threatening behavior towards hotel guests and staff. Despite frequent reports and warnings, no action was taken to remove Roland from the hotel or warn other guests.
D’Amore Law Group stands with the Cole family and will do everything in our power to hold defendants fully accountable for Bradley’s tragic and preventable death.
The lawsuit was also covered by the Daily Mail and the Lincoln City Chronicle.
