We are proud to share that Amy Bruning, attorney at D’Amore Law Group, has been recognized by the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) as the 2025 New Lawyer of the Year.
This honor is a testament to Amy’s outstanding dedication to her clients and the wider legal profession, her tireless advocacy for justice, and her leadership within OTLA.
Amy has long been an active force in OTLA, co-chairing the Women’s Caucus for the past two years and previously co-chairing the Membership Committee. She currently serves on the Oregon State Bar’s Uniform Civil Jury Instruction Committee, where she helps shape the instructions that guide Oregon juries in civil cases.
A graduate of OTLA’s Leadership Academy, Amy has also devoted countless hours to the Legislative Committee, where she played an integral role in efforts to remove the statute of limitations on child sex abuse and adult sexual assault cases in Oregon, as well as the “knowingly” standard. Under the old law, survivors had to prove that an institution or individual was aware of abuse with a very high level of certainty, which made accountability difficult. The reforms she helped pass lowered that barrier, ensuring survivors are better able to hold perpetrators and negligent organizations responsible.
We are thrilled to see Amy recognized for her exceptional contributions, and we look forward to seeing her continued impact in the years ahead.
