Amy Bruning

Amy Bruning joined D’Amore Law Group as an attorney in 2018. Amy is committed to using her legal expertise to advocate and provide justice for those who have been severely harmed by the negligence of others. Amy brings to D’Amore Law a wealth of diverse legal experience having previously represented plaintiffs in employment, housing, education, and other civil rights matters.

While Amy has strong involvement in all stages of her client’s cases, she has a passion for complex motions practice, trial preparation, and appeals. She understands that her clients are seeking legal assistance at a particularly difficult point in their lives—following trauma or the loss of a loved one—and considers it both humbling and rewarding to wade the legal morass on their behalf.

Amy is admitted to practice law in all Oregon state and federal courts, as well as the Ninth Circuit. She is an active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association: serving as a member on the Amicus, Legislative, and Membership Committees, as well as Women’s Caucus; previously chairing the Membership Committee and Women’s Caucus; and presenting at its continuing legal education seminars. In 2018 and 2019, Amy participated in its highly-selective Leadership Academy, and in 2025, she received its New Lawyer of the Year award.

Amy is also a member of the Oregon Justice Resource Center’s Amicus Committee, which advances civil rights and liberties by providing amicus assistance to cases that present significant social justice issues facing Oregon courts.

Since 2024, Amy has served on the Oregon State Bar’s Uniform Civil Jury Instruction Committee, which provides pattern jury instructions for all Oregon civil practitioners. She has also been repeatedly recognized by her peers in the legal community, being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2023-2025), a Best Lawyers One to Watch (2020-2025), and a National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 (2020-2024).

Nationally, Amy is a member of the American Association for Justice and Injury Board, which are organizations comprised of top plaintiffs’ lawyers throughout the country committed to making sure people have a fair chance to receive justice through the legal system when they are injured.

Amy earned her law degree from the University of Michigan, where she received a Dean’s Scholarship, was a contributing editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform, and served as a student attorney with the Child Advocacy Law Clinic. She received her bachelor’s degree from Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she majored in psychology.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son partaking in all that Oregon has to offer.
