What woman in the firm or the business community inspires you and why?
My daughter, Elle, always inspired me. She dealt with grand mal seizures on an almost nightly basis. Yet she rarely complained, was a great friend to many, and worked tirelessly to achieve her dreams. I wish I had half the discipline and fortitude of her.
If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Once again, the answer is my girl, Elle. The chance to hear her voice and have ANY conversation with Elle again would be a dream come true. Not only was Elle smart, she was also super funny.
How is being a female professional in the legal industry advantageous?
Women are not confined to any box. They can be strong, confident, smart – all while being compassionate, kind, gracious and warm. I don’t know that our society is ready for men to own all of those qualities yet.
What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self or the next generation of women leaders?
Take more risks. Have more fun! And, above all give each other the benefit of the doubt.
